The Calm Before the Storm

Well it hasn't been that calm!
Last week I was planning on getting prepared for leaving but as usual the best laid plans are frought with dissapointment. I had some pretty deep personal issues to deal with and didn't much feel like doing anything. Still don't. The weekend was full of skiing, which again I didn't really feel like doing but was convinced to go do anyway.

Saturday I was supposed to meet Jen and company but everyone slept in which left me on the hill alone (people seriously need to stop diching me this week....). Luckily my friends Jason and Tina were at Louise that day and we got some good turns in. Sunday I was at Sunshine (and the sun was actually shining!) with Trevor, his new lady Dana and her friend Sarah(sp?), which was also fun but my legs are very angry at me now, and refuse to stop aching.
Which leaves me where I am now, PANIC MODE!

I still need to find proper winter boots and gloves and they need to be as devoid of labels and symbols as possible. Seriously; VANOC (Vancouver Organizing Committee) will have people roaming around making sure that we are only wearing approved uniforms and attire while not displaying any non-sanctioned apparel logos or names. Good thing I'm taking some duct tape.

Dave has graciously agreed to give me a ride to the bus station late on Wednesday so luckily I have that part covered; as well as taking care of my house while I'm gone. Oh and congratulations to Both Dave and his wife Jamie on their new baby boy Dylan! He is home from the hospital now, and resting comfortably with mom and dad for any who didn't know.

So yeah back to prep work. I have crazy work days ahead of me trying to get everything sorted out for leaving for a month. Tomorrow morning I get to go out and unspool plastic pipe in the cold which normally I would be excited about (yes this is actual engineering work) but I have so much stuff I want to try and get done at the office!

My evenings are also packed full with my raiding schedule.  I have 9 other people relying on me here; not about to let them down either. Plus I don't want them to sell me out and find another tank! Besides whats more lovable then a furry bear with rockets on his butt!
The WoW players will get it but check this out for a better and more visual explaination. The bear is actually my character and I thought my niece Molly would get a kick out of seeing this.

So basically I don't think I get to sleep for the next week, possibly longer. Oh yeah, and I have to pack....
